Telangana drinking water grid project for Bundelkhand

Telanagana minister for panchayati raj and rural development K T Rama Rao and his team of officials Thursday met Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and gave a presentation on the southern state’s drinking water grid project, which the CM wants to take up for the Bundelkhand region.

“Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav had heard about our project through some friends and had shown interest. Therefore we decided to personally visit and give a presentation. Since the Bundelkhand region faces similar issues and our project is already functional, he (Akhilesh) has now asked his Chief Secretary to explore the possibilities,” Rama Rao, son of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, told The Indian Express after the meeting at Akhilesh’s residence in Lucknow.

Asked about the kind of support that Telangana would be giving to Uttar Pradesh, Rama Rao said, “Our project has been well tested and Telangana would give all the technical support it can to solve the water problem in Bundelkhand. We have invited Akhilesh to come with his team and see it for himself how the project functions.”
