CM suspends 3 forest officials of Mahoba range

LUCKNOW: Chief minister Akhilesh Yadav issued suspension orders for three forest officials of the Mahoba range after finding them guilty of certain financial irregularities on Tuesday evening. The officials - divisional forest officer RR Gautam, sub-divisional officer Sanjeev Kumar Sharma and forest ranger Vimal Kumar Jaiswal were also found guilty of misreporting facts. The CM has also recommended strong departmental action against the officials.

The officials have been found guilty of financial irregularities during the period 2010-11 when they were handling funds allocated under the Bundelkhand package. The funds were to be spent on mass plantation drive in which saplings were to be planted with the help of job card holders under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.
