(NEWS) New Airstrips to be constructed in Chitrakoot U.P.

The Uttar Pradesh government has issued formal orders allowing the landing and parking of private aircraft on any of the 12 airstrips of the government against a certain fee.

The airstrips in Ambedkarnagar, Ghazipur, Sultanpur, Aligarh, Meerut, Farrukhabad, Faizabad, Kushinagar, Sonebhadra, Lakhimpur Kheri, Shrawasti and Etawah districts are used for VIP movements only at present.

Three more airstrips are to come by the end of this year in Moradabad, Chitrakoot and Azamgarh.

“The idea is to consider airstrips as infrastructure and promote aviation activities on them so that they can be put to more use,” said Director, Civil Aviation Directorate, Devendra Swaroop.
