The Englishmen souls resting here, in peace, in Banda from about last 200 years. Situated along Kalukuwan-Flyover road of Banda, this graveyard encloses the history of English glory during British rule over India. It is an eyewitness , for about two centuries, of the life of Banda and its past and present residents and all the events taken place during this period. Whether it is 1857 revolt or Golden Era of Nawab Banda else India Freedom Struggle, all those memories are still cherished by this mere piece of land which is so static and feeling less. But this all can't subside its importance at least in country like India where Graves are of sacred means.

Geography Of Banda

The district is named after the headquarters town, Banda, which is said to have derived its name from Bamdeo, a sage mentioned in Hindu mythology as a contemporary of lord Rama. Bamdeo is said to have had his hermitage at the foot of a hill Bambeshwar near Khutla locality in Banda.

Location and Bounderies :
The district is located in the Chitrakutdham Division of Uttar Pradesh with its headquarter at Banda and lies between Lat. 24º 53' and 25º 55' N and Long. 80º 07' and 81º 34' E. It is bounded in the north by district of Fatehpur in the east by the district of Chitrakut in the west by the district of Hamirpur and Mahoba and in the south by Satna, Panna, and Chhatarapur the districts of adjoining Madhya Pradesh .

History of Banda

The region covered by the present district of Banda can boast of a rich historical tradition going back to the remote antiquity. The stone implements and other remains found here of the Paleolithic and Neolithic periods prove that human civilization began here in those earliest times in much the same way as in the rest of the country.
