Bundelkhand package offering no additional help

After accusing the UPA of discriminating against Uttar Pradesh, the state government today said it was not getting any additional help from the Bundelkhand package announced by the Centre for the drought-hit region.

UP Chief Secretary Atul kumar Gupta, who met a Planning Commission delegation in Jhansi today, apprised it of the state's views on the Bundelkhand package and said that the assurance given by the central team was not "totally positive", an official release said here.

"The state has not got any additional help due to the Bundelkhand package announced by the Centre", the chief secretary said adding that the over Rs 1595 crore additional central aid (ACA) in the package is the one which would have come to the state anyway.
