(NEWS) CM faces people's wrath in Banda

BANDA: The Rifle Club ground of Banda on Sunday witnessed the public outrage against the Samajwadi Party regime as chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav had to cut short his speech and make a hasty retreat. The chief minister was there to address his first election rally in the region.

Due to Election Commission (EC) restrictions, only few security personnel were present at the venue, providing an opportunity to people to come openly against the CM. They raised slogans against the government and expressed anguish at the alleged patronage of criminals and mafia dons by the CM and his government.

As soon as Mulayam realised that the situation could turn explosive he took the mike, addressed the gathering much before the scheduled time and retreated from the venue. Even Banda MP Shyamacharan Gupta did not get a chance to address the rally.

Interestingly, the likes of dreaded brigand Shivkumar alias Dadua's son Veer Singh and his brother Bal Kumar were sharing the dais with the CM when the people started raising slogans like 'Gunda-raaj nahi chalega'. While Veer Singh is chairman of Chitrakoot zila panchayat, his uncle Bal Kumar is ruling party candidate from the Patti Assembly segment in Pratapgarh district. Even Dadua had recently vowed to support the Mulayam's party in the assembly polls.
