4 Gunned down near Jhansi Medical College

Four persons, including two teenage boys, were sprayed with bullets by unidentified miscreants killing them on the spot on Kanpur-Gwalior Bypass behind Jhansi Medical College on Sunday.

They were identified as MP Cooperative Society employee Brijesh Tiwari (40) of Kundar village near Niwari in Madhya Pradesh, his sarpanch wife Babli Tiwari (35) and their eleven-year-old son Puneet and nephew Mayank (15).

According to reports, the family was coming from Niwari to attend a marriage in Jhansi. Behind Jhansi Medical College on Kanpur-Gwalior Bypass, a car intercepted their four-wheeler, forcing them to stop. As soon as the two cars stopped, miscreants jumped out and opened indiscriminate firing on Tiwaris killing them instantly. After police reached the site, they recovered 11 used cartridges, including four of 12 bore and seven of 315 bore.

DIG, Jhansi range, VK Garg accepted that the police have no clue about the assailants but hoped that the killers would be nabbed soon.

Stating that Babli was the sarpanch of Sindu Sagar village near Newari in MP, he did not rule out the possibility of political rivalry as the reason behind the murders. He said that the Crime Branch had been involved in the case and the cops have also contacted MP Police.
