Friends of Orchha, is a Swiss non-profit organization established in Geneva in 2006 by several European friends of an Indo/Swiss-Dutch couple, Asha D’Souza and Louk Vreeswijk, who are now permanent residents of Orchha. VSK founded in 1973 by a group of scientists led by Dr. Bharatendu Prakash of Banda district( then at I.I.T.Kanpur), has been active all these thirty five years pursuing its concerns. VSK has encouraged many youths to start their own organizations which number more than twenty spread all over Bundelkhand ( UP+MP) and Poorvanchal of U.P. and initiated organization of poor and small farmers in this region.

"Panna is located in the north-eastern part of Madhya Pradesh with the headquarters at Panna town. It forms the northern district ofSagar division".
Originally a Gond settlement up to the 13th century, Panna was made the capital by Raja Chhatrasal Bundela. Panna was a part of the new Indian state of Vindhya Pradesh which was merged into Madhya Pradesh on 1st November 1956.
How to Reach The only diamond city of India, Panna has Rolling Meadows dotted with evergreen trees, rocks, hills and forests. Panna is famous for its temples which strike a very fine blend of Hindu and Muslim architecture. With a sanctuary for rare wild life and avifauna and a diamond mine, Panna has been transformed to a city of natural beauty and eternal serenity.
By Air Khajuraho is the nearest airport to Panna (45 km). There is direct air links from khajuraho to New Delhi, Bhopal and few other cities.
By Road A well maintained network of roads link Panna with the rest of the country. Mandla, about 24 km from Panna is the major transportation centre.Distance Chart

Shri 5 Padmavatipuri Dham, Panna and its sacred places. Adorned with divine lustre Padmavatipuri Dham is in Panna town at the centre of Vindhyachal in Madhya Pradesh. Moving around in different places along with his disciples Mahamati Prannath reached Panna with a divine message of awakening one's soul. Seeing a desert island he decided to unfurl the flag of Jagani there. He helped the brave king Chhatrasal and adorned him by the title of Maharaja. He remained there for elevan years, and took samadhi inside the dome itself. The place, therefore, is known as the seat of salvation [Muktipitha] or Padmavatipuri Dham.
Description
The Park is situated 25 kms from Khajuraho, a world heritage site which is half an hour drive from Madla Entry Point. Hinouta, the second gate of the Park is 20 kms from Panna town. Khajuraho is the nearest Airstrip which is directly connected to the National Capital, New Delhi. Taxies are available all time from Khajuraho to Panna." The Reserve is open for the visitors for eight months in a year, i.e., from November to June."
There is a ban on diesel vehicles in side the Reserve. The Park does not have transport facility for visitors. Accommodation can be made available in the Park Inspection Huts at Madala & Hinouta (two suits each) on first-come-first-serve basis and on the condition of availability. Guides are available at both the entry points."

Mammals :-
Tiger, Leopard, Sloth Bear, Wolf, Wild Dog, Wild Boar, Hyena, Samber, Chital, Nilgai, Chinkara, Chausingha, Porcupine, Jungle Cat, Rusty Spotted Cat, Hare, Rattle, Tree Shrew, Gerbil, etc. Avifauna :- About 200 species have been identified which include host of winter migratory birds. Aquatic Animals :- Both maggar and gharial are found in Ken river besides host of fish species, turtles & other.
Endangered Species :-
Tiger, Leopard, Carcal, Four-horned antelope, Indian Wolf, Pangolin, Rusty Spotted Cat, Sloth Bear and Gharial, found in the Park, are included in Schedule I of WPA, 2010.
